Stephen has also created and founded Compass EMP Mutual Funds and Exchange Traded Funds, (now Victory Funds and VictoryShares ETFs -- The firm was sold in 2015 to Victory Capital Management.). Stephen was the former portfolio manager, Chief Investment Officer and Chief Investment Strategist of 28 mutual funds and exchange traded funds.
Stephen was also a former frequent contributor to the FOX Business Closing Bell Show (TV), CNBC Closing Bell Show (TV), Bloomberg TV, Wall Street Journal, Forbes, Barrons, and many other financial media outlets. He has also rung the opening or closing bell on the New York Stock Exchange or NASDAQ Exchange eight times. The latest was May 11, 2024, closing bell on the NYSE.
Stephen came out of a brief retirement and founded PlanRock Investment Management and PlanRock Wealth Strategies, of which he is the CEO and Chief Investment Officer. Stephen Hammers oversees the PlanRock Funds, which is an alternative growth fund, in the form of an ETF, traded on the NYSE under the ticker PRAE. Stephen oversees the company, investment strategy, planning and his personal high net worth clients.
